What does clear quartz mean?

Clear quartz is known as a stone of clarity. It’s said to amplify the energy of other crystals. We think of it as a reminder to see an intention clearly.

Colourless quartz has a long history of its own. In ancient times rock crystal was used mainly to make crystal balls and bowls.

Is clear quartz linked to a zodiac sign?

In Astrolith readings it isn’t tied to one sign; it comes up when a reading points to clarity. That means it can sit beside any sign’s stones in a design.

It does have a birth month. In the UK, clear quartz, or rock crystal, is the alternative April birthstone to diamond; US lists name diamond alone.

How do you choose clear quartz?

Ours is natural and shows tiny inclusions. Glass is the common look-alike. It tends to have swirl marks and round bubbles, and at 5 to 6 on the hardness scale it’s softer than quartz. A perfectly clear bead full of round bubbles is most likely glass.

How do you care for clear quartz?

At 7 on the hardness scale, quartz is hard and durable and takes a brilliant polish, so clear quartz suits a bracelet worn every day. Care is the same as for amethyst and rose quartz: warm soapy water is safe, and steam cleaning is best avoided.
